Worlds of Wonder Products

When former Atari executive Don Kingsborough realized the potential of Teddy Ruxpin to change the landscape of the toy industry, he quickly gathered funding and spun up a new company, Worlds of Wonder, to facilitate its distribution.
Seemingly overnight, Worlds of Wonder became the most valued company in America, thanks in large part to the overwheling success of Alchemy II's Teddy Ruxpin talking toy. Worlds of Wonder would enlist renowned marketing firm Chiat/Day to create groundbreaking commercials and marketing materials, ensuring Teddy Ruxpin was known in every household in America.
On the heels of Teddy's success, Worlds of Wonder would continue financing Alchemy's talking toys, such as Grubby and Mother Goose. Soon, they were gobbling up every possible intelectual property to creating a talking toy for that brand, which led to the creation of Mickey Mouse and Snoopy talking toys. Its other major success, Lazer Tag, would be one of its final, revolutionary products.
A victim of their own success, Worlds of Wonder would close its doors for good in 1991 amid a stock market crash and poor management decisions. However, the toys it helped bring to market have left a lasting mark on the industry and touched the lives of children and adults for generations since.
